How to Sponsor A Hospital
Over the years, more than 50 bereaved families have sponsored Bereavement Book Carts in memory of their babies. These gifts have created a meaningful way for newly bereaved families to see others paying it forward, often inspiring continued generosity in honor of their own children.
Many families have also felt a deep desire to give back to the hospital where their baby was delivered—something we find incredibly meaningful. At the same time, this has led to an imbalance, with some hospitals receiving significant support while others with equal need have gone underfunded.
To ensure more consistent and equitable support across all of our Partner Hospitals, we are introducing a more structured approach to sponsorship. These updates will take effect on June 1, 2026.
Annual Caps
Each hospital we serve is unique in size, location, and the number of families they care for each year. To ensure support is distributed thoughtfully and sustainably, Gemma’s Hope sets an annual funding capacity for each hospital based on estimated need.
Once a hospital’s annual care package capacity has been fully funded, any additional sponsorships will be extended to support other hospitals within the same health system or nearby communities with unmet need. This allows every gift to continue making a meaningful impact for families. Health system sponsorship capacity is based on the combined total of all participating hospitals within that system.
