About Gemma's Hope
Our mission: support bereaved families with keepsakes & grief resources and supply hospitals with practical perinatal loss materials.Gemma’s Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Charlotte, NC, dedicated to supporting parents after pregnancy and infant loss. We believe every baby deserves to be remembered—and every grieving family deserves compassionate, thoughtful care in the hospital and beyond.
Through donated grief books, keepsake materials, and practical resources, we help families create meaningful memories during the most heartbreaking moments. We also partner with hospitals to improve bereavement care through training, resources, and hands-on support.
What We Offer
For Families:
📚 Free grief books tailored to each family’s unique loss (including resources for dads, siblings, & in Spanish)
🧸 Keepsake items such as a soft stuffed animal, inked hand/footprints, photos, baby clothing, and comfort items for the hospital stay
📝 Easy-to-read articles on grief, memory-making, and emotional healing
📍 A directory of nonprofit organizations and support groups serving bereaved families
🌱 Opportunities to volunteer, donate, or honor your baby's legacy through remembrance
🤝 A sense of belonging—because no parent should feel alone in their grief

🧺 Affordable or donated keepsake materials for bereavement programs
📖 Perinatal bereavement training for nurses and hospital staff
🧑⚕️ One-on-one collaboration with bereavement coordinators to troubleshoot urgent needs and resource gaps
