  • About the Conference

    The mission of Gemma's Hope is to provide practical resources & hope after pregnancy & infant loss. One way we can practically do this is by offering training, insights, and a collection of resources on the topic of perinatal bereavement to providers in our area so that future parents experiencing this tragedy might have a more pleasant encounter and make better memories with their babies.

     

    Target Audience

    Certified Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Community Health Worker, Counselor, Doula, Executives/Leaders, Genetic Counselor, Health Educator, Lactation Specialists, Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Assistant, OB/GYNs, Physician, Physician Assistant, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Public Health Workers, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Neonatologists, Respiratory Therapists

     

    Objectives

    • Enhance provider awareness and understanding of perinatal bereavement and the psychological and emotional impact of perinatal loss on parents, families, communities, and healthcare providers.
    • Facilitate discussions to identify weaknesses and strengths in current care practices for bereaved families, fostering collaborative problem-solving to overcome challenges and enhance support systems.
    • Equip providers with effective communication and empathy skills tailored to diverse populations, enabling them to navigate sensitive discussions and provide personalized, compassionate care to bereaved families.
    • Summarize resources and services within the community to strengthen support networks and enhance local resources for perinatal bereavement care.
    • Foster relationships between healthcare professionals, hospital systems, suppliers, and local organizations to be more efficient & effective at providing excellent care.
